This summer, Cora Pearl, calligraphy instructor at Portland Community College, taught a new course at PCC that she created called Introduction To Hand Lettering. At the November meeting Cora will give a short workshop on two styles of Art Deco monoline lettering that she taught in her class.

Come join us for an evening of exploring two monoline styles that are easy to learn. This is a great workshop for all levels and for those who would like more experience in working with Speedball B nibs.

Materials: Gilbert bond paper; Speedball B-5 nib; nib holder; Higgins Eternal black ink

The Portland Society for Calligraphy Board meetings are open to all members. At the meetings, the Board of Directors develops and carries out the Society’s policies and by-laws with the help of committees who report activities to the Board. While the Board reflects a diversity of calligraphic experience, everyone is devoted to the art. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, we invite you to come to the next Board meeting and help the Society grow.
